2018 Jeep Renegade Explained
The 2018 Jeep Renegade has a refreshed interior features two new storage areas in the front row, new seat fabrics, colors, and interior trims. The Selec-Terrain shifter dial has also been redesigned. The Uconnect 4 infotainment system with a 7.0-inch center touchscreen is now standard on the Latitude trim, and the base Sport model now comes with the Uconnect 5.0 radio system with a 5.0-inch display and Bluetooth. A new dual-pane sunroof is now available on the Latitude and higher trims, and a rearview camera is now standard on all trims. Latitude, Trailhawk, and Limited trims can now be equipped with an available 8.4-inch touchscreen navigation.
TRIM LEVELS
The Renegade is Jeep’s smallest and least expensive crossover, positioned below the larger Compass, Cherokee, Wrangler JK, the new Wrangler JL, and the Grand Cherokee.
2018 Renegade Sport: The base Sport model comes standard with the 1.4-liter turbo-four engine, 16-inch steel wheels, a 5.0-inch touchscreen with the Uconnect 3 infotainment system and Bluetooth calling, a 3.5-inch instrument panel driver’s display, a rearview camera, push-button ignition, and remote keyless entry.
2018 Renegade Latitude: The Latitude trims makes the 2.4-liter I-4 engine available, and adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, dual-zone climate control, roof rails, fog lights, automatic headlights, and an upgraded steering wheel.
2018 Renegade Altitude: Moving up into the Altitude trim will add 18-inch gloss black aluminum wheels, High Glass Black interior and exterior accents, black cloth seats with black stitching, and body-colored exterior mirrors with turn signals.
2018 Renegade Limited: The Limited comes standard with the 2.4-liter I-4 engine, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats, leather-trimmed seating, leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, a quick entry system, remote vehicle start, silver metallic roof rails, and a 7.0-inch instrument panel driver’s display.
2018 Renegade Trailhawk: The Trailhawk adds off-road features including 17-inch off-road wheels and all-season/off-road tires, Active Drive Low four-wheel drive system (20:1 crawl ratio) with Selec-Terrain traction management system, a 0.8-inch off-road suspension lift, hill descent control, red tow hooks, off-road fascia, skid plates, and a black accent roof.
The 2018 Renegade’s standard engine is a 1.4-liter turbo-four that produces 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, and delivers an EPA-rated 21 city 34 highway mpg with front-wheel drive and 24 city 31 highway mpg with all-wheel drive. The optional 2.4-liter I-4 pumps out 180 hp and 175 lb-ft and is rated at 22 city 30 highway mpg with front-wheel drive and 21 city 29 highway mpg with all-wheel drive. The 1.4-liter turbo-four can only be paired with a six-speed manual and the 2.4-liter is backed by a nine-speed automatic. The 2018 Jeep Renegade Sport 4×4 (nine-speed automatic) hit 60 mph in 9.0 seconds and stopped from 60 mph in 123 feet.
