41The 2019 Jaguar I-PACE features a clever cab-forward design that maximizes the amount of interior space. Jaguar boasts it has the exterior dimensions of a compact luxury SUV like a Porsche Macan, but the interior space of a midsize one like the Porsche Cayenne. Indeed, its back seat is impressively spacious. But what about cargo capacity?
On paper, the I-PACE has 25.3 cu ft. of cargo space behind its back seat. That's comparable to what's under the hatchback of a Tesla Model S. In practice, we discover that the I-PACE can hold two midsize check-in suitcases, three carry-on suitcases and two overnight bags with a little room to spare. That's pretty darn good, though it's not a very tall area, so boxes or other bulky items would fit better in a more conventional crossover.
Although the 2019 Jaguar I-PACE is the only crossover of this size and price we've cargo tested, you can at least see how the BMW X2 did along with some other small crossovers.
