Welp. I made it through area 9 without too much issue this time, but area 10 crossed the line into clearly unreasonable - there are seemingly no efficient recovery options anywhere near Corridor 10. The final corridor would not be any less unreasonable.
I think this romhack is neat for how much it changes from the original game, and it definitely forced me to learn new tactics. It is billed as a challenge, after all. But I think there's a big difference between a reasonable challenge, and a romhack just being excessively brutal and wasting the player's time, which is what this devolved into in area 10, and is seemingly far too common with romhacks in general.
