2021 Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban Walkaround Video Interior, Features, Spec & Full details
In the Chevrolet Suburban versus Tahoe battle, both have long been family favorites with their large seating capacity, substantial cargo abilities, and practical functionality. With some fantastic new updates for 2021, drivers might just find that one outperforms the other.
Both the Tahoe and the Suburban come standard with a 5.3L V-8 engine and rear-wheel drive. They have the same fuel economy, averaging 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
Both vehicles have a Flex-Fuel system which allows the use of unleaded and E85 fuel. Since the Tahoe and the Suburban have the same engine, fuel needs, and fuel economy, both vehicles cost the same to run per month. Additionally, both vehicles are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission with shifting capacity.
One of the few major differences between the Tahoe and the Suburban is the fuel capacity, Charlotte Team One explains. While the Tahoe holds 26 gallons of gas, the Suburban holds 31.
Interior and Technology
The technology present in both vehicles is identical, including the provided OnStar services, says Biggers Chevy. The included OnStar services offer concierge service, hands-free calling, destination guidance, roadside assistance, and destination download.
For both the Tahoe and the Suburban, climate-controlled air conditioning, satellite radio, Bluetooth, power seats, HD radio, parking assistance, and navigation are standard features. A rear-seat DVD player is an option for both vehicles. The seating capacity is eight passengers for both the Tahoe and the Suburban. Both vehicles include premium cloth upholstery. Optional upgrades for the Tahoe and Suburban include heated and cooled seats as well as keyless ignition.
The Tahoe and the Suburban both offer passengers three comfortable rows of seats with enough space for eight or nine people to stretch out. Top interior features on upgraded models include:
Premium materials in the cabin
Heated seats in the first and second row
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system
Exterior and Paint
On the exterior, standard features for both the Tahoe and the Suburban include all-season tires and polished alloy wheels, says Charlotte Team One. While the base models don't include the power glass sunroof, buyers can add it to higher trim levels. The interior upholstery and exterior paint colors are also identical for both vehicles. Chevy offers two interior options and nine exterior paint choices.
Storage Space
One area of difference between the Tahoe and the Suburban is the size of the cargo area, Charlotte Team One states. The Suburban offers more rear passenger headroom, slightly more legroom, a higher cargo capacity, and a larger wheel-base. Additionally, the Suburban is both longer and heavier than the Tahoe. While the Tahoe might be smaller, it does feature a higher towing and payload capacity than the Suburban. The Tahoe can tow 300 additional pounds and carry 30 additional pounds in the rear than the Suburban.
