Recently, a new Qashqai covered in camouflage film was spotted by photo spies during road tests. The online magazine "Kolesa.ru" presented what the future crossover will look like.
The Japanese crossover traces its history back to 2007 when the first generation of the model was presented. In 2014, the second generation entered the conveyor, and in 2017 Qashqai received a restyling. The car is very popular: in Europe, it is the best-selling Nissan, and among all models of all brands, it ranks 13th at the end of 2019 with a result of 218,650 copies. In the Russian market, the SUV also feels confident, because, at the end of July this year, Qashqai is ranked 19th in the TOP-25 of the most popular cars, having significantly increased compared to last year. The next generation is called to consolidate the success, which will receive a more modern appearance in the style of the new X-Trailsubmitted two months ago. The renders are based on spy photos, so the proportions of the body match the real car. A radiator grill similar to Ikstrail will be placed in front, but the headlights will be different: instead of "two-story" optics, we expect to see a single headlamp unit of the original shape, slightly echoing the updated Nissan Patrol.
Mirrors, like on the new Ixtrail, are now located on legs. The sidewalls are likely to get a more strict shape, but at the same time, they will retain a few embossings at the bottom of the doors and above the rear arches. The side glazing line will change slightly, and there is also a high probability of a contrasting roof solution, similar to the X-Trail crossover. The horizontally elongated lanterns will remain in approximately the same place, but their shape should become more faceted.
According to preliminary data, Qashqai will be built on the same upgraded CMF-C / D platform as the new X-Trail. The crossover will have several hybrid modifications - both mild hybrids with a 48-volt starter-generator, and a full-fledged PHEV with the ability to charge from the mains. At the same time, it is already known that diesel variants will disappear from their European crossover range.
The premiere of the new Nissan Qashqai is expected before the end of this year.
