Although the nameplate originally was used on a less-than-stellar compact car line in the 1970s, Ford has revived the Maverick name for its new small pickup truck, and has slotted it into the lineup below the mid-size Ranger. This time, the Maverick is an impressive package worthy of an Editors' Choice award. Instead of sharing parts and mechanicals with the Ranger, the Maverick rides on the same chassis as the Bronco Sport compact crossover. The standard powertrain is a hybrid setup that consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, a continuously variable automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. Ford also offers all-wheel drive, but only with the optional nonhybrid turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. All models sport the same four-door crew cab body style with a 4.5-foot bed. The Maverick is part of a new class of small pickup trucks that Hyundai is also entering with the upcoming Santa Cruz.

The Maverick pickup truck has been in the works for some time, but the wait is over. It's finally on sale and available for orders now.
With a 505-hp twin-turbocharged V-6 under its bulging hood, the 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio turns up the heat on the sports sedan segment. It shares its chassis and interior with the standard Giulia, which means it inherits that car's sharp handling and fun-to-drive demeanor, but that Ferrari-derived six is really the star of the show. Its performance rivals established players the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-AMG C63 as well as the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, but it offers a certain Italian flavor that's missing from those sedans. While our long-term Giulia Quadrifoglio was plagued with reliability issues, we still think the car's performance and charisma make it worth a look for buyers seeking driving thrills, so we put it on our Editors' Choice list.
What's New for 2022?
Additional standard equipment joins the Giulia Quadrifoglio's spec sheet for 2022, including a new wireless smartphone charging pad, an air-quality system, heated front and rear seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Additional driver-assistance features have been added as standard too, including lane-departure warning and automatic high-beam headlamps.
