I got to take a quick look at the new 2024 Gigabyte Aorus 17X at CES 2024 and see what changes were made since the last one. While not much has changed on the outside, with its milled aluminum CNC chassis and thin profile, there was certainly a compelling argument to not change that aspect. However, while the display is nice with 240Hz 100% DCI-P3, it's in a 16:9 aspect ratio and doesn't get as bright as the competition. Hopefully Gigabyte fixed the issues with it not pulling the wattage it should and improved the software experience, because if it did, this laptop could be quite the option in 2024.
