20In recent times, the middleweight category of adventure motorcycles has seen a remarkable surge in popularity. These motorcycles are designed for those who yearn for the thrill of off-road exploration while still enjoying a smooth ride on paved roads.
Suzuki has introduced a unique version of their V-Strom 800DE, dubbed the Djebel. This name pays homage to the tallest peak in Tunisia, part of the expansive Atlas Mountain range, symbolizing the bike's boundless spirit for adventure.
The V-Strom 800DE Djebel was revealed at the 2024 Motor Bike Expo in Verona, Italy, sporting a distinctive look inspired by the past. Suzuki has designed this bike with a classic white and blue color scheme, accented with striking gold on the forks and wheels, making it stand out. But the appeal of the Djebel edition goes beyond its appearance. It comes equipped with Dunlop Trailmax Raid tires for superior off-road capability and features a high-quality titanium slip-on exhaust from Akrapovič.
Despite these special touches, the Djebel edition maintains the core specifications of the standard V-Strom 800DE. It features a 776cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine, marking a new chapter for Suzuki with more power and better performance than its 650cc predecessor. This engine boasts 83 horsepower and 54 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with modern technology for enhanced safety and performance, including switchable ABS, various riding modes, traction control, and a quick shifter for smooth gear changes.
Launched initially in Italy, the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Djebel is priced at 13,900 euros, approximately $15,091 USD. To put this in perspective, the standard model in the U.S. is priced at $9,899 USD, representing great value for enthusiasts of outdoor adventures.
