The following commands are prefixed with three letters which represent the settings of the command block. E.g IUN: = Impulse Unconditional Needs_Redstone. These prefixes need to be removed if copying the commands.
Commands used:
Player to Storage:
IUN: data modify storage id:data heldItem set from entity @p Inventory[{Slot:0b}]
CUA: data modify storage id:data heldItem.Slot set value 1b
Storage to Container:
IUN: data modify block ~1 ~ ~ Items[] set from storage id:data heldItem
Container to Player:
IUN: item replace entity @p container.0 from block ~-2 ~ ~ container.0
Directly set storage:
IUN: data modify storage id:data heldItem set value {Slot:0b, id:"minecraft:command_block", Count:2b, tag:{BlockEntityTag:{Command:"say Ho"}}}
