Valisthea is a world divided by six nations. It is powered by Crystals and Dominants, which are humans that host each nation's Eikon. Tensions between the nations escalate as a magical drought dubbed the Blight begins consuming the land. Clive Rosfield, guardian to his younger brother, Joshua, witnesses his kingdom destroyed and becomes involved in the growing conflict between Valisthea's nations and the secret power behind the war tied to the dark Eikon Ifrit.
When Titan destroyed the Hideaway, he took innocent lives in a meaningless slaughter. The new Cid has taken the pieces and fashioned them elsewhere, maintaining the hope given by the original. Time has passed since then and though old friends were lost, new ones have been forged, and it's keeping everyone above water.
