[3] Let's Play ST Armada 3: A Mod for Sins Rebellion
The Romulans ain't so tough, right? Well, okay, maybe they have a bit of bite to them. Even so, we continue our expansion into this region of space and have ourselves a real, actual skirmish with our enemies, as well as pirates and local fleets as usual.
Still shaking off the rust a bit here, but it all comes naturally back when you've sunk like 50 hours into a game.
A side note, but Sins is truly a beautifully-designed game. I've gone on about the literally epic scope of zooming from multiple solar systems to the lines of flying traffic on one particular colony world, for instance, already, but the actual UI is also great. No wrestling with intricate menus really, research is the closest it ever comes. Otherwise, building and deploying vast fleets is done with button clicks, easy if you memorize the way it goes.
Even small things like the hashes to each side and the bottom of a planet's icon give you so much vital info before you even mouse over it, after which it gives you even more, and the ability to control and direct from on high. I can see with a glance at a map where my main fleet is, where any enemy assets are, and what the bigger picture is on the conflict.
