3 Reasons Your Player Character Doesn't Know That| D&D Discussions
How do you handle this in your game? The idea that characters at the start of their adventuring career are going to be more ignorant about the world around them. Common folks in a DnD world just don't have a lot of diverse life experience. Something to consider as a player character and a Dungeon Master or Game Master. People don't travel far from home in a typical campaign setting. Many of the races describe in Dungeons and Dragons campaign settings are even describe as being kind of xenophobic further compounding the problem. There are some npc characters that will be widely traveled, but they are rare even in fantasy game setting.
