Gameplay of the hidden character Hikyaku in the gameboy version of SNK's Samurai Shodown.

SNK kept up with having new characters in their portable ports by having additional, exclusive characters in this game boy version of Samurai Shodown 1. Hikyaku was the guy in Sam Sho 1 who would throw items into the arena, in order to disturb the fight. Here, he's been made playable in his first and only appearance. Indeed, it was his appearance in this game that made me decide to cover the portable Sam Sho games.

Hikyaku is very basic. He has a bomb he throws in an arc, and a powerful running attack which deals decent damage and knocks the opponent down. The only problem with it is that after he's performed it, Hikyaku is incapacitated for a couple of seconds while he recovers from it. In this way he seems to be more a joke character, with mediocre special moves and a lack of power. However, he is a unique character to this game, so he was still worth covering.
