Shiki was introduced in Samurai Shodown 64, a game I (poorly) covered some videos back, and which would get its own port as a NGPC title. Still, an inclusion of an exclusive character is a pretty great incentive to try out a port of a game.
Shiki seems, I don't know, a little unfinished perhaps. Her moves have some poor hit detection in places, and some of her special moves were oddly difficult to perform. What's more, she seems to cause the other characters to glitch fairly frequently, sending them up the screen as if this was some sort of Rainbow Edition. As a character she's a bit of cult favourite as I understand it, but I really didn't care for her. Most of her attacks are quite difficult to land, and can be quite difficult to pull off. Once more, I am thankful to SNK for including her, though I feel her execution in this game is a bit off.
