Released by Codemasters in 1988, 4 Soccer Simulators is a sports video game that, as the name implies, includes four different soccer simulations, each providing a unique style or perspective on the sport. It was available on platforms such as the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Amstrad CPC.
The game's four soccer modes are:
11-a-Side Soccer – A traditional soccer match where players control an entire team in the standard 11 versus 11 format (which is the mode I'm playing here).
Indoor Soccer – A variation played indoors on a smaller field with fewer players, altering the game's pace and dynamics.
Street Soccer – A more informal and less structured version of soccer, resembling the kind of play you might find in urban environments.
Soccer Skills – A mode focused on specific soccer skills, allowing players to practice and refine their techniques.
Known for its simplicity, fun, and the variety it offered within a single game, 4 Soccer Simulators provided multiple soccer experiences even though its gameplay was relatively basic compared to modern soccer titles. It's considered a classic from the 8-bit era, appealing to fans of early soccer video games and nostalgic gamers today.
P.S. I played the game using both the 'Low Ball' and 'High Ball' options but honestly couldn't notice any significant differences. Nevertheless, I uploaded both videos for good measure. The game manual didn't offer much help either.
