426: Virtua Fighter 5 PS3 \\ {Goh Quest mode!} VF Battle Masters & the craziest Goh AI I've fought!
Playing judoka Goh Hinogami in Quest mode (on Hard) of Virtua Fighter 5 on PS3! After a false start where I went a little too hard with down attacks (and some trouble with Kages--that continued through the session :P), I bashed through the VF Battle Masters tournament for the first time. And after fighting for a while in Sega Park East, I ran into the most amazing Goh AI I've met so far!
0:00 - start
2:07 - VF Battle Masters run 1
4:58 - promoted to Warrior rank!
16:32 - VF Battle Masters run 2
27:40 - status
30:50 - trying 'p' to wrap up Sega Arena Coast
46:10 - fighting in Sega Arena East
49:43 - Club Sega Bay Area tournament
1:02:56 - vs "Man o mule" (9th dan Goh, Sega Arena East)
1:15:24 - wrap-up & what's next!
Well, I learned not to try doing down attacks all the time. That Goh AI, "Man o mule," did loads of them on me, especially the throws; I'm starting to suspect that in order to get a down throw in fast enough, you have to deck the opponent with specific moves--like maybe that palm slap he liked (bfP).
By the way, check out the match-winning Ring Out he engineered against me at 1'11"13. : o I gotta figure out how to do that shoulder push thing he does after throwing me back off my feet.
Moves:
new:
yes
hcfGP - most damaging throw
ffK - mighty kick to the groin
bK - better range than it looks like, maybe better as defense though
dfK - good range, speed
b,fK - long range kick, with deflection
bPK (charges) - thrust strike, uncharged can float, charged staggers
kinda
dfP - overhead mid, decent speed and range
dbPK - fast low-ish stab knockdown
bfP - palm strike knockdown!
fPK,P - shoulder, punch two-hit knockdown; trouble if blocked
K - medium-short kick with knee kept high
fK - knee thingy, can sort of loop it
bP,K - slow overhead chop followed by really fast kick!--but bad if blocked
maybe
dfGPK - crouching throw
dfGP - ground throw
dK - quick, short low
dbK - little kick to the ankle
GK - high sweep (no b or fGK)
ufGK - (or uGK?) high stagger jump kick, turns Goh around, tricky to hit with
ffPK - big overhead punch w/ knockback, can follow w/ punches
hm
dfPK - short low uppercut w/ deflection, but so short range it usually only works defensively
