Update! Regarding the Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown babbling I did during this episode: Sega of Japan released some stuff overnight, showing a few seconds of character customization here https://youtu.be/VvyXibMXuDA?t=113 while saying "download-o contents"; it then goes on to show the game playing in a VF1-style graphics mode.
Destructoid makes no mention of the character customization. The official site hasn't been updated with any of this new stuff yet.

Thought I would play Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution in Quest mode with my 10th dan Jacky Bryant, at the higher of the two available difficulty levels, and found my brain all muddled so all I could do for the first hour I've spent in the Sega World North virtual arcade was mutter to myself about Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown while getting beat up by high level AIs. : P After about an hour I got things back together a little, you might just want to skip to that point.
0:00 - start, Sega World North Quest list, etc
3:07 - North & Midtown, trying to remember moves
7:19 - brain dead, Sega World North
58:09 - a little better
1:21:04 - wrap-up & what's next!
So yeah, for an hour I forgot that sometimes defending and throwing is a good thing to do; I don't seem to be any good at whiff-punishing with a strike combo, really--the AI just blocks by the time I feel I'm safe and react. Flip kick (flash kick? : P) probably is a decent counter-attack in some of those cases but eh definitely not in others, as I found. ; )
