I've tried various tools during the 4-5 years of making games in pixel art style. I can't say that I am a good artist (or artist at all), but Aseprite made my life a lot easier. It is a very beginner-frienldy program that allows you to jump right into pixel-art and animation without overwhelming you with unnecessary functions and UI elements. I believe that it is simply the best pixel art software for PC in 2019.
