Soldiers at the the Paderborn-based 20 Armoured Brigade have begun training in earnest for Afghanistan.

Fifth Battalion, The Rifles (5 Rifles) have been focusing on basic infantry skills at the Sennelager range area, starting with elementary weapon handling and moving on to platoon attacks.

5 Rifles are usually mounted on their armoured Warrior vehicles but training for Afghanistan has taken them back to their core skills.
