661 Squadron of 1 Army Air Corps have swapped the cool ranges of Gütersloh in Germany for the hot Californian desert. They are honing their skills at El Centro Air Base where they can gain the most realistic training before being deployed to Afghanistan. During a number of realistic scenarios the aircrew have been sharpening their skills over four days of intensive training. In one exercise they kept watch from the air for any suspicious activity, ready to give an early warning to a convoy of any obstacles - buying time to re-route them.
