5.0-2413: Wii Remote Netplay Stress Test - Saves and Attachments
Since being removed in Dolphin 5.0, Wii Remote Netplay has been completely renovated. Several fixes were made make it usable once more and make it even better. Despite this, configuring emulated Wii Remotes for netplay is a pain and makes no sense.
For Wii Remotes to work on Netplay, Player 1 uses Wii Remote 1, Player 2 uses Wii Remote 2, and each player must configure the Wii Remotes to have the same attachments, battery, etc. or else the game will immediately freeze due to input desyncs. Most people who try to use Wii Remote Netplay will most likely end up with this happening. Setting up is still dumb, we'll keep working on it.
We started the game from a blank save which then was saved to our NAND. Since we only have played on Netplay, we have not had to synchronize our save at all, but, if you do need to synchronize your save, exporting Wii save seems to work (tested in Dokapon Kingdom. Which also works for those interested.)
We've experienced zero random desyncs. We did experience desyncs due to not knowing freelook just being enabled can mess up netplay.
With that, we hope that you enjoy this demonstration. We really do enjoy the thought of playing our favorite Wii games on netplay, and this title seemed like a good stress test that'll take a lot of time to beat. Over 18 hours now and no real issues!
