United Nations personnel in Cyprus have been marking the 50th anniversary of the island's peacekeeping mission.

A short ceremony was held this morning at Blue Beret camp in the Buffer Zone to pay tribute to those who have served.

In the first of three special reports, Carla Prater's been looking back at the history of the mission and how it all began.
