Todo's got just a handful of special moves and I didn't use them much because I feel kind of awkward with them: he's got a sort of short-range fireball on qcfP, which he can also do in air, a really weird-looking energy uppercut thing on zP, and a seemingly very short-range command-throw on hcbP that just sort of sets up the opponent for some kind of follow-up, I guess--and that's it!
His fireball's range is actually kind of useful, I found later, but doesn't do much damage. So anyway I mostly just punched and kicked! Using my custom groove with chain combos, his kicks in particular could add up to pretty decent damage on unsuspecting AIs.
It was tough going at first but eventually I kinda did okay! Also he's got a really good hair and coiffure in that portrait by Shinkiro! ; D And I do like his win pose where his daughter from SNK fighting games, Kasumi, comes out and finger jams with him. ^_^
And I finally cloned my custom groove from EX1 to EX2 and set 2 on Run instead of Dash, starting with run 4 @ 14:23; Dash definitely felt really awkward with Todo, like I was just hopping into the opponent's punches. : P And it's kind of amazing because when he runs, his hakama kicks up and you suddenly see his calves. ^^_
And that's Todo, as they spell it here!
Man, I finally realized these games are *still* really loud! Their constantly crushing music totally defeats my normal normalization scheme, which is based tuning my base recording volume to the game's peak SFX. Durgh! Just gonna have to keep hand-tuning 'em until the balance sounds right. : P Think maybe I'll play them again next week to have another stab at it.
Oh yeah and I also finally noticed that the gauntlets of AI opponents are fixed in All Survival mode, rather than random--although it randomly picks between three different arrangements, or something like that.
