...the amount of gold it takes to increase a trader’s attitude is based on your level. If you go to withers and ask to change your class to bring your character to level 1, it will only take exactly 400 gold to increase merchant attitude from neutral to max.To get even higher discounts you can also increase your proficiency in persuasion. Good merchants to do this on are Damon, since he’ll be around for a long time assuming you keep him alive. I also like to do this on Auntie Ethel, since she sells Elixirs of Hill Giant Strength in the Grove. Just make sure not to go to her swamp or she won’t be in the grove anymore.
And last, Derryth Bonecloak is another great merchant because she sells Elixirs of Bloodlust, Hill Giant Fingers which are used to create Elixirs of Hill Giant Strength, she also sells Elixirs of Hill Giant Strength, and Worg Fangs to craft Elixirs of Bloodlust. So really an excellent merchant for powerful elixirs. And you can visit her up until you leave for Act 3, so she can be your source for all those elixirs at a discount.

Steal everything from a trader (again) x
Number 2 is how to steal everything from a trader. There’s currently an arms race going on between Larian and the community trying to steal items from traders through bugs and Larian hotfixing it. As of December 21st this still works, but we’ll see for how long. To get the Trader’s entire inventory of items, sell a pouch or any other container in the trade tab, then go to barter tab, put all their items in the pouch, then exit the pouch, drag the pouch to a character that's not talking to the vendor, click the other character’s portrait to switch to them, double click the pouch, then exit the shop, and you will see the pouch open and you can click take it all to have all the items put into your inventory completely free. Upcast Ritual Spells x
Number 3 is upcasting ritual spells. Admittedly, I haven’t been doing this! You can actually upcast ritual spells while still not using a spell slot if done outside combat. It will target more people when upcasted, so it can be really convenient rather than casting Longstrider 4 or more times after each rest, you can just upcast it to get your whole party in one or two casts instead.. So many times have I casted longstrider after a long rest on every party member individually, no more!
Make Enemies Skip Their Turn x
Number 4 is making enemies skip their turn. This is one of the most powerful things you can do to an enemy, and surprisingly it’s not all that hard to do. One of the easiest ways for anyone to make all enemies skip their turn in through Surprised. Surprised is a condition that makes the target unable to use actions or reactions. And inflicting Surprised on an enemy is as easy as starting combat by attacking them while invisible. You could drink a potion of invisibility, but those run out. A much easier source of consistent Surprise on enemies is actually the Cheeky Quasit who can be found in Act 1 under the blighted village. Shovel, the Quasit, has Invisibility which can be cast an unlimited number of times which means essentially every fight if you start by attacking while invisible with Shovel, then you’ll surprise your enemies - making them skip their turn. The Warlock also has a Conjured Imp which has Invisibility if you go Pact of the Chain. And probably one of the strongest sources of Invisibility is playing Duergar. Duergar get Invisibility as a Cantrip, allowing them to cast it as many times as they like outside of combat. This allows you to play any class you’d like and still start combat from invisibility causing the enemy to all skip their first turn.
