#713 Tekken Tag Tournament (ARC) Hidden Characters (9/12): Wang Jinrei playthrough.
A playthrough of the hidden character Wang Jinrei in the arcade version of Namco's Tekken Tag Tournament 1.
I'd make a "two Wangs" joke but that would just be too easy.
Well...this playthrough went pretty swimmingly. I said this back in my Tekken 3 Anna playthrough, but that low palm strike (f + 1 + 2) is so goddamn good. And, of course, Wang utilises it here, making this playthrough surprisingly easy compared to the others. As I said in my Bruce video, "stopping" attacks really are king at this point in the reason, which something we'll see gradually change from Tekken 4 and onwards. That palm strike (and some of Wang's other striking attacks) just seem to decimate the opposition here, and I was even able to get a knockout on Unknown (for once).
Wang really didn't seem to have much of an improved moveset here, maybe gaining a few different attacks, but on the whole he's still pretty viable character on the whole, particularly if you enjoy that Michelle-esque moveset of his. We'll see Wang one more time, where he will actually get quite an overall in terms of moveset, but I'll talk more about that at the time, as always. Wang's as decent as ever, just like all the other characters in this game. Dream-match titles rarely look to reinvent the wheel, after all.
