A playthrough of the hidden character Ogre/regular Ogre/ Ancient Ogre/ Playtime-is-ogre/It's-all-ogre-now/Maximum Ogredrive/Shrek in the arcade version of Namco's Tekken Tag Tournament.

This is the last we'll see of Ancient Ogre for quite so time, so appreciate him while he's here I guess. Once more, he's another character who I don't think has changed all that much, if at all. His sleeker design means he has a much narrower hitbox than his True form, but he also doesn't have the range of his actualised counterpart, so it's an fair and still rather interesting tradeoff.

He's still the same movestealer we all know and love/hate, with a combination of moves from Heihachi, Kazuya, Jun and even Lee, with Heihachi's air kicks (though he adds a third kick to the attack), Kazuya's 1-1-2 and 1-2-2 punches, Jun's backflip-and-uppercut combo and Lee's Laser Edge infinite kicks, or a derivative of it at the very least. A slight and well-made Frankenstein's creation it must be said, as if you didn't have a decent knowledge of movesets you wouldn't realise quite how much of a mismatch of characters he is, with numerous layers. Which indeed I didn't realise. For years. Somehow.

Overall, Ogre's definitely grown on me a lot more as a character after covering him. He still doesn't hold a candle to Devil for me, but, as I said before, getting to play as all the franchise bosses in one games is a pretty damn satisfying experience, and really does help to put a lot of things into perspective, including just how competent of a character Ogre really is. And with that said, next time we take a look at the final boss of Tekken 2, for the final time.
