5Altis’ tumultuous political landscape is, once again, causing unrest for the citizens of the island. This island’s capital city, Kavala, has become the home of anti-government protests, with riots rife in its streets. Located in the west of the island, Kavala is home to thousands of civilians who now find their home in disarray. Paramilitary organisations and private military groups have entered the scene, ramping up rumours of an impending coup in the midst of the turmoil. These issues have seen the local police and armed forces splinter, creating a serious power vacuum on the island.
Governor General Giovanni Bianchi retains some control over the remaining armed forces, but their area of control in Kavala is being increasingly enclosed on a daily basis. Intelligence gathered by the Governor General’s security service points to a planned kidnapping of the politician. This would facilitate the potential coup by removing the last figurehead of Altian democracy and leaving the armed forces without direction. For this reason, Bianchi is being held at a government safehouse in the city along with his head of security and two bodyguards.
We have a very small window to move into Kavala, exfiltrate Bianchi and his security detail from the safehouse and convoy him to a temporary Airfield setup at Almyra on the salt flats. Once free from the dangers of Kavala, Bianchi has requested our assistance in securing private meetings with local community leaders to encourage their continued cooperation. These individuals and groups should be treated with caution.
