[8,000 SUB SPECIAL] [RESTORATION] End Credits — The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
this video WILL sound very quiet at first, and that's because this song has a very large dynamic range. it's pretty much required that you adjust your volume throughout this video. it's inconvenient, but in the name of accuracy, that's how it sounds in-game. the reason some transitions may also seem sudden are because I also matched the video to the in-game timing. with that out of the way, put this video on the nicest set of speakers or headphones that you own, and enjoy!

man, this one has been a long time coming. the whole reason I got into restorations in the first place was because I was interested where Ocarina of Time's strings came from. months of rabbit hole-diving later, I'm releasing something I would only ever have dreamed of when I started. I wanted to release this ages ago, but as time went on and I found more and more tools, I decided to wait until every possible thing I could restore, was restored. some standouts are, in my opinion, the strings, the harp, and the french horn (see credits at the bottom; I'm crazy thankful). of course, almost everything sounds drastically different since these instruments use the full patches, and even stereo samples when the option is there
(as a side note, it's crazy how much a restoration changes this song compared to ones from the same console like Kirby 64's Factory Inspection https://youtu.be/x_6TBEhg4HE . I guess it all has to do with the sources, since these orchestral and choral samples had to be crunched a lot more than K64's short, synthy ones)
as always, the list of non-restored instruments, since no one's found them yet: the oboe, Malon, the small snare in the Lost Woods section, and the Goron cuica. the ocarina is semi-restored, since Aqua MIDI in the discord found a REALLY similar waveform in a Roland expansion, but it doesn't match exactly. well it's good enough for me, and I hope it will be for you all as well.
the only edits I've made to the original MIDI data are smoothed expressions, added vibrato, and slight tempo adjustment to match in-game. everything else it as it was. sorry if anyone finds the visuals a bit hectic, but I like showing off the original data whenever I can. this has been a huge undertaking for me and I hope everyone loves this as much as I do!
