82: AFFILIATE CELEBRATION STREAM WOOHOO! Part 1
Part 1 of 2 due to crash.
GAMES: Destruction Carnival, Ben Jordan Case 1, Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures, Time Splatter, Sunset Riders
SONG: Banned from Hannon
I MADE AFFILIATE?? To celebrate, I attempt my first ten-hour stream (which strays closer to 11 hours). Emotes have been created and uploaded. Affiliate onboarding has been papwerworked. Channel points are set up, though TTS doesn't tell me when their redeemed. We also do a number of game giveaways, to give back to everyone who's helped me reach this milestone.
I start out with Destruction Carnival, the great Klik N Play top down shooter that I previously played on my birthday. Someday we'll actually beat it. Then we try the deluxe remaster of the first Ben Jordan game, a series of shortish freeware horror adventures (horror-comedy, really) that I'd been meating to try for years. I get stuck a couple of times but ended up having a good time. We'll probably play the rest of the series. Check out that guy getting GORILY and NOISILY ripped in half!
Remember when Namco was like, "What if we expand on the world presented in Pac-Land, but we made it a weird platformer puzzle/adventure game with an infuriating control scheme"? Well, I do, and we spend more than half the stream on this oddity that I got for a birthday somewhere along the way. Pac-Man is a temperamental little git, make no mistake. Sometimes you have to not only piss him off, but get him the right level of pissed off and then click on a very specific place. I couln't get him to smack the ghosts' frying pans, thus revealing the secret code, so we looked up the darn code! And hey, I didn't reset the game this time. What a character that Pac-Man is!
Because I love me some rail shooters ("Keepin' It Rail"), we take a gander a short, incomplete, but somewhat interesting rail shooter from steam. Timesplatter. Not to be confused with Timeslaughter, or Time Killers, or Rosemary and Time. One of those resource-hungry Unity games that lags and then crashes the stream, but we're back up and running in no time.
Somebody redeems the Song of the Day, and I sing an original one, a parody of "Banned from Argo" about causing trouble in the library at my film school. Another new redeem sees the surprise return of our friend Fluffbomb Cheerglimmer, who who is as surly as ever and gets downright threatening when Voicemeter causes his voice to infinitely echo at increasingly high pitch. Wonder if he'll become a regular. We had SEVERAL raids. Can't tell you guys how grateful I am.
We take a break to watch the behind-the-scenes featurette that came with my DVD of Sam and Max Season 1, which I played not long ago. To end the stream, I play a classic arcade run-n-gun set in the wild west: Sunset Riders. And then we raid. I somehow forgot to take a break the whole time. That can't be healthy.
Highlights: 20 game giveaways, many of them preceded by nonsensical alliterative epithets I bestow upon myself in the name of others. Pac-Man getting angy, even crazily smashing himself with a mallet and banging on the screen to get our attention every time I welcome in a raid or pause to chat. Mr. Cheerglimmer threatening to "use my cute kitten claws to cut a bitch" (uwu). Chat riffing on the Unity memory leak (more like Unity left the tap on!). Me managing to play TWO games with offensive depictions of Native Americans in one stream, which leads to a more serious discussion during Sunset Riders. (Was 1UP Steve the real villain all along?) I should be more considerate of offensive elements in games, really. Me finding out my third emote got approved during stream. Us marveling at the cocaine and violence in one game, also wondering if one character is secretly a humanoid raccoon.
Some sound and technical issues are better, and I will continue to work on them and improve. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/purblindgamer
