A Boy and his Blob is a Sidescrolling Puzzle Platformer.
Your Blobby friend can transform itself, by eating different types of Jelly Beans to help you to traverse the level.
In each level you can also find three treasure chests and if you get them all, you unlock a challenging Bonus level. If you finish such a bonus level, you unlock concept art for the game, that you can find in your tree house (hub level).

So how does the game work. Your 6 Year old Maincharacter can't jump very high or far, it's only 1 block height and 2 blocks width. So you need the help of your Blob, that follows you around (mostly) and if Blobby is not close, you can whistle, so that he comes like a cuddly little doggy.
So the first levels are with only a few types of jelly beans, to ease you in, on the system how to play the game.
So you can transform your Blob as example to a ladder, to climb up to a platform above, or you transform Blob into a hole, to drop down that platform. Other transformations i unlocked, where a trampolin and a balloon. The trampolin works like intendet, to give you a jump boost and if you jump multiple times on it, you even reach higher heights.
But this is where your little friend can't follow you and this is where the balloon transformation comes into play. This way your Blob can float to you and you have him by your side again.

For it's style i put the game as in for Kids, but my guess is, that the game gets more and more complex. So i say it's also interesting to play the game yourself or with your kid together.
