A Critical Thought on Game Design Abstraction
We're turning to a basic, but vital topic for game design in today's critical thought. Abstraction is the idea of creating rules and systems for how your game works and is important to understand if you want to be a game designer. Different games use different degrees of abstraction, and that will determine the fanbase that you're aiming for.
I also talked about how this relates to strategy games and the challenge of understanding just how abstract from reality you want to make your game.
