A Critical Thought on Metroidvania Design
Today's Critical Thought is on Metroidvania design. I talked about how the genre came about and what is and isn't an example of it. Good Metroidvania design is about mechanic growth over the course of a game, and there is a good and bad way to do it.
I also want to know if we should still call the genre "Metroidvania," or is there another term for it?
