Today's topic begins my thoughts on the strategy game genre. Like the RPG, strategy games tend to fall into different schools of thought and game philosophies. The two main ones are macro and micro-focused design.

While I prefer macro style, there are some limitations that have hurt them in the market and led to the rise of micro-oriented. This isn't the last time we'll talk about this topic though, as there is plenty more to discuss.
