In Terraria, there are four main types of weapons that you can take. One of them is the mage, or sorcerer, or whatever, which uses mana to fire some magic. On the early days, you'd find weapons like Wand of Sparking, or the gem staff. Not sure what the plural form of "staff": Is it staffs?? or Staves?? or is it just staff???... You can make one with some gem, which is very lame, and obscure. So, someone made it bit more unique, and useful.
