" The mother's little child has a weak heart and will die soon. Death comes by and takes the small one away. The mother seeks out to get the little baby out of the reaper's claws... can she do it? "
- TStarGermany

SPOILERS AHEAD:

Now... this is some serious and heavy story telling for a trackmania track but... wow... what a track!!!
I already showcased TStar's most popular track which was montezumas treasure, a really cool rpg with some neat effects but in my opinion this one is better despite the shorter lenght. It was released just one day after tamonte's elvenpath and a week after crusard's noches so this was definitely one of the best eras in tmx.

What stood up for me and one of the reasons I was obsessed on getting this mediapack for over so many years :| was the unique aproach this one has.
Altough it is possible to speed run it and skip the effects, this is not a track meant to be fast paced. I can't recall anything from this era with ingame cutscenes that blend so well with the track and doesn't take the flow away.
And how about those effects? I admit crusard's rain effect were the peak but these ones aren't far behind and go so well combined with the weird but effective fx color which i want to point out how transform water into grass in the space of seconds, aswel as an excelent usage of images and sounds. The outro I feel it could expand the track a bit instead of just showing the ingame run (that's why i prefered to show the sick wr replay by jofo) but it's still good enough as it makes for a more intriguing ending to the story.

But what about that story and what would be the point of neat effects if that wasn't interesting? This is not the case... this story is DARK if you pay atention to it and doesn't even have an happy ending... but it showcases bravery, love and sacrifice from a mother willing to do everything such as walking through a rainy forest and face death ... literally... just so she can have her baby back.
Yea... heavy stuff and this is why i consider this to be the best tmn story track ever even if didn't reached the levels of popularity that trump card and venice challenge had but 122 awards and over 7500 dls it's still a impressive stat.

Despite what TStar wrote in the credits, this was not his last tmn track, he still went on to release 20 more tmn tracks until april 2008 and 24 more in tmnf including montezumas treasure and maniacity in 2009 so he still had some banger releases after this one :)
Items for this one still held on for a couple of years until 2013 when mania-creative went off, but after that I could not get the hold of them and believe me I searched them for so long, until recently I saw a reddit thread where tstar himself replied and linked the long last items making this masterpiece playable again.

I made them avaliable again in our discord server aswel as many other classics also featured in this channel

Special thanks to TStarGermany for providing me with the media for this track, thank you so much and congrats for an excelent work that still hold on 17 years later.
Also a shootout to JoFo for his tmx wr replay I showcased in the outro, even without the media it was a sick run.

The music is called: Die Geschichte Einer Mutter by Bel Canto
