Mass Effect 2 is an action role-playing video game, developed by BioWare, and was released initially released in 2011. It is the second part in the Mass Effect series and the sequel to Mass Effect.

Mass Effect 2 plays during the 22nd century within the Milky Way galaxy, where humanity is attacked by the Collectors, an insectoid alien race.

And again the player takes control of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must assemble and gain the loyalty of a diverse team to stop the Collectors in a suicide mission. With the use of a completed saved game of its predecessor, the player can impact the story of the game in numerous ways.

In 2021 the Mass Effect series was remastered and named the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
