Description
Black Salt Games developed Dredge, which was published by Team17 in 2023. The game features a fisherman as the player character, who encounters progressively more Lovecraftian creatures as they explore an open-world archipelago. Dredge was released on March 30, 2023, and is available on multiple platforms including Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X and Series S.
The game operates on a day-night cycle, with certain actions such as fishing advancing time. When the player encounters undersea creatures, they must complete a short minigame to catch them successfully. If the player remains out at night, a panic meter increases, potentially leading to hallucinations that alter the boat's reality.
Upon reaching a port, players can sell their catch and use the proceeds to upgrade their boat with additions like headlights or a thicker hull. The boat has limited space, requiring players to choose their gear wisely. Additionally, players can accept side quests from island residents for rewards.
