For years I have painstakingly tried to promote MTGO to my youtube community and recruit as many players to it regardless of the obvious flaws. I have always been a social online gamer. I have always been drawn to games that have clans, teams or guilds that help interact with others.

To this day, clans are still 100% useless. We aren't able to host private tournaments, nor is there a function for observers in private games to see both players hands, options that would make the software a lot easier and appealing to viewers of streams and youtube.

I desperately want WotC to get their act together. MTGO could be a phenomenal gaming experience that could draw huge crowds like Hearthstone does.

This latest change is the step in the wrong direction. The "tax" or "rake" on the events is completely unreasonable. Most games these days actually do the opposite, by REWARDING play. League of Legends, Dota, Hearthstone, actually incentivize playing with earning various point systems that can be used to buy in game purchases. How these games make money is by people choosing to spend money rather than grind the points, and they have been MORE than successful ideologies.

Can you imagine how many people would queue up in the 2, 8, and daily Queues if they were free? I know WotC is worried about collaborations between players scooping games to grind points, but there is an EASY solution to this, by suspending or outright banning offenders. Yes, this would require a lot of work to perfect, and it seems that that is what WotC is most afraid of, actually putting in the work required.
