I don't really remember what triggered this story, which I wrote about 12 years ago when attending a writing class, but I reflected on some of my own schooldays and now as an adult realise how cruel children can be not only to each other but also to adults. It was always thus and always will be and of course is a form of bullying when anyone who is a little different can be targeted. That element of the story is pure imagination but we did play in the woods and experienced some very strange things there, I leave you to your own imaginations as to what might be true.
