A tiny External SSD for your iPhone 17 Pro Max
31In this video I'm using the iPhone 17 Pro Max with the 512GB NANO SSD by TwoPan. This tiny SSD is capable of recording up to 4K/UHD 60FPS using the H.265 codec with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It also works with my iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
This external SSD will also work with any iPhone that has USB-C as an external SSD for general data storage and will record video externally with any compatible iPhone that's using a camera app capable of recording externally. In this example I was using the Blackmagic Camera App.
I can also conform that the Balckmagic Camera App gives you the option to record Apple LOG 2 when using H.265. DaVinci Resolve also recognises Apple LOG 2, so if you use a colour managed project, DaVinci Resolve will automatically transform Apple LOG 2 to whatever your output gamma and colour space are set to. This is really good as I record in LOG to avoid the terrible skin tones that the iPhones produce when recording in standard rec.709.

NOTE I would ignore the sustained data rates that TwoPan advertise, as in practice this SSD does not sustain those speeds and I definitely would not recommend this SSD for use with any ProRes recording. However, it is absolutely awesome for H.265 up to 4K/UHD 60FPS.
