A Tribute to Jerry Nelson (1934 - 2012)
238This morning I got a rather devastating email from Muppet Central, informing me about the passing of long-time Muppet veteran Jerry Nelson, the man who brought us Herry Monster, Count von Count, Floyd Pepper, Robin the Frog, the original Snuffy, and many other Muppets (and announcer voices for Sesame Street and the other Muppet productions as well). So I spent a good chunk of the morning preparing this tribute, and I wanted it to be something more special, compared to when I simply did still image tributes for Art Clokey (in 2010) and Bill Melendez (in 2008.)
The song is A.A. Milne's "Halfway Down the Stairs," as performed by Jerry's Robin the Frog. Enjoy!
