Firstly, let me mention that the ambience of this game is tremendously well put together. From the artistic choice in the graphical department, to the atmosphere that is built up with minimal information showing, to the lighting effects juxtaposing the dark environment to highlight important details.

The audio design and the sound effects are up to par with the standards that I would hold a game like this, if not surpass them by a considerable amount. I like the thud that guns pack, and the vibration on the controller that enhances the experience.

The gameplay is simple and familiar to those who have played left 4 dead. You proceed through the level until you reach a checkpoint that is your safe zone. From there you have a few precious uninterrupted seconds to upgrade your weapon or switch to your desired weapon. From then you rinse and repeat until you beat the level.

The game is acutely challenging on the easy difficulty but I would recommend medium or higher. The shotgun was my weapon of choice. Fully upgraded it packs some serious heat. There are several maps you unlock through the progression system, which is not that in depth. Throughout the game you puck up one item that can be used as a consumable. So far the only things I have seen are one minigun that can be placed down to help protect you against hordes, or an endless supply of health packs. As a matter of fact, after picking up the minigun, every pickup after that was a health pack.

you have 4 hit points that deplete one by one after getting hit.

There are several weapons to choose from but like I mentioned earlier, the most expensive one, the shotgun, was my favourite weapon to use.

for 14.99, there is plenty of fun to be had here. You can play 4 player coop or invite a friend using the steam play together feature if they do not own the game and play with you as if it were coop. The game does get quite repetitive so I do not see myself doing one mission at each sitting. The 4 player local coop is a great feature, but it is only local coop. In the video I mention that it is multiplayer and that was incorrect.

In short, this top down action shooter has you defend against an alien invasion with multiple weapons to choose from, in a 4 player coop experience that is very similar to left 4 dead. An incredibly well put together artistic choice with great visuals and audio design. Can get repetitive due to lack of depth, but in short bursts it is a time well spent for the asking price.
