Not for broadcast put you in the shoes of the one responsible to ensure things go smoothly when it comes to broadcasting on live TV.
Your responsibilities might not seem like a lot in numbers, but they are a lot of responsibilities for what they are. You must navigate between switching to the right screen to be displayed to the audience, censor out swear words, avoid interference on your broadcast and choose what adverts to play and also the right moment to play them.
Firstly, choosing the correct camera. You will have 4 different feeds that you will need to switch between. Your primary is usually your news host. The second is a wide angle of all parties involved. The last 2 are usually focused on each party that is in the interview. You must constantly switch between feeds and spend no more than 10 seconds on one feed. You must alternate the feeds between the speakers as well as their wide shot, but you must primarily focus on the speaker. Spend too much time on one feed or on the person not speaking, and you will lose audience ratings.
You will occasionally have to keep an eye out on the censorship button. The live feed is about 2 seconds ahead of the broadcast feed. You can either listen for the swear words or you can look at the sound wave metre on the bottom and press the Spacebar or click on the censorship button while the swear word is being told to bleep it out. I found that looking for it rather than hearing for it can be easier.
You must also at the same time use the scroll wheel or the slider on the right hand of your desk to avoid the occasional interference. in the end of each segment you must play one of 3 pre selected adverts. Sometimes if you play the appropriate advert you will get bonus ratings too.
Those are the primary things you will be doing in this game. It might sound simple, but doing all those things at the same time for a prolonged period? Good luck!! that is a challenge.
My only complaint is the save system. If you exit too soon before the segment is complete you are thrown way back again so you might not find it entertaining to re-do an entire segment you had just done. I would suggest a more liberating save system for sure.
The acting is incredibly well done, no complaints there. It is funny, intentionally cheesy at parts, and serious when it needs to be. Primarily it is goofy because this is a comedic game. The game takes itself seriously in the sense that it knows what it tries to do, and it does it well. I would hate to think that this game does not take itself seriously. Because everything it does here is done perfectly well. The unique nature of this game will also contribute excellently to its longevity.
