Abyss Watchers S11 Pt2 Let's Play Dark Souls 3
2The Abyss Watcher boss fight starts out easy enough, one boss that can be backstabbed, and staggered. The problem comes in about 10-20 seconds into the fight where another watcher spawns. At that point I recommend playing defensively for another 10-15 seconds for the third to spawn. It sounds crazy but trust me it helps a lot. Once the 3rd watcher spawns, take one of the non red eyes out at least. Lest you end up alone with 2 mad watchers again. If that happens, just wait. Old red eyes at least spawns twice.
Once the first "phase" is done, the hard part begins. While there's only one watcher now he is fast, hits fairly hard, and has residual fire on most of it's attacks reminiscent of Maria in Bloodborne. My advice, hit the boss after their dash, normally you can get a hit in there. If you're gutsy you can get a fairly easy backstab after the big jumping crescent if you roll to the side instead of back. Rolling back is safer but harder to retaliate.
I can't really dodge in the second phase too well with an ultra greatsword so I had to utilize it's reach a bit more. If you have a quick weapon the same strategy still works but is a bit slower.
