AC Shadows Steam Deck playthrough on Expert [Docked] [FHD] Part 05 Exploring and side-questing
0There is a lot of videos on YT with various games tested on Steam Deck. Most of them present the footage of the screen and how the game looks ON Steam Deck. Some people, however, use their Steam Deck as a desktop PC or a regular console. My tests intend to show how the game looks and performs on an external screen, in full HD (not in 4k for performance reasons) with certain scaling options.
For the sake of this playthrough, I decided to force the game to start in actual 1080p instead of the upscaled resolution and, to my surprise, there is no visible difference in performance but there is a huge difference in the visuals. The game looks fantastic on the TV and the Steam Deck is running an open world game released in 2025. Compared to my tests of Wild Hearts, it's day and night.
NOTE 1: I played the Ubisoft Connect version of the game with the app installed through Nonsteamlaunchers, which I highly recommend.
NOTE 2: Bear in mind that this is recorded in the docked mode, meaning the performance might always be a bit lower than in the regular handheld mode due to the scaling, etc.
