Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition [Jap dub] playthrough Part 01 It looks amazing
0I am kind of late to the party (the store I preordered the game didn't ship the game on time) but here is one of the games I specifically waited for in 2025 - Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch. It is a remastered version of the game originally released for Nintendo Wii U - one of the consoles that I don't onw and don't intend to own because it would be kind of redundant. However, the console's library had one title that, in my opinion, featured one of the best open worlds in gaming in terms of scale and artistic direction. I never understood a pal of mine who purchases a Wii U specifically to play Xenoblade Chronicles X on release, buying a console for one title? It was an overkill, for sure, but after I played Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii, had a taste of Xenogears on PS1 and, finally, played Xenoblade Chronicles X through emulation, I understand his decision. The game is a mess in certain departments (UI, combat mechanics) especially for a newcomer or person who is not a particular JRPG enthusiast, but it blows your mind in other (story, visuals, music).
However, once I learned there will be a remaster for the Switch, I immediately got excited because one of the things I want to experience in this game is its open world. It's so good, it's absurd. Although year 2025 is very busy in terms of new releases (so many good games still to come out), I hope I will find the time to delve into this game. After playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for 10 hours, I can immediately tell that Xenoblade Chronicles X is just on a another level. I also noticed that they introduced many changes in the UI and added many quality of life changes so now the combat is more readable and comprehensible. You actually know what are you doing, which is great. All in all, can't wait to play another session.
