Following the second battle over Sand Island and destruction of Scinfaxi, Yuktobanian advance into Osea ceases and their military operations lower to almost non-existent intensity. Despite this, Wardog Squadron is sent out to the northeastern part of Osean territory known as Akerson Hill to perform a patrol flight over the area's anti-aircraft network. As squadron separates into two formations, Blaze and Edge encounter Osean transport plane codenamed Mother Goose One whose pilot claims that the plane is carrying an important cargo as it is heading to an secret assignment in the Usean country of North Point. Due to this, Mother Goose One wasn't registered as friendly aircraft and was fired upon by Osean anti-air defense network set up on Akerson Hill, destroying its navigation system and damaging the plane itself. Due to this, Blaze and Edge are ordered to assist Mother Goose One by safely guiding it through the air defense network, However, as they do, a group of Yuktobanian fighters enters the airspace, forcing Wardog Squadron to fend them off. As they do, a spy reveals himself aboard Mother Goose One, managing to kill its pilot before being overpowered. Due to this, one of the civillians present onboard the plane is forced to take control while the "cargo", revealed to likely be an Osean president, contacts Wardog Squadron, asking them to cover Mother Goose One while it performs an emergency landing in the middle of Akerson Hill. After the plane successfully lands, Osean fighter squadron whose leader identifies them as "8492nd Squadron" arrives in order to supposedly relieve Wardog Squadron and assist the rescue of civillians aboard Mother Goose One.

Later, Albert Genette learns that Arkbird has been damaged as its power generator has been destroyed in a sabotage by an unknown party, effectively eliminating Osean advantage over Yuktobania and prolonging the war between the two countries...
