Oseans and Erusians join forces against a common enemy - a trope AC has used before, but one that well played, never gets old, and that I never cease to love. And they do in the traditional massive furball, this time an endgame one with 5th gen aircraft everywhere. I love that. Even though F-22s abound in Strangereal, we rarely get to face them in decent numbers - as typecast as it is, a black, stealth aircraft will always make for a great enemy. I just wish we had more of them. This mission features something incredibly rare in Ace Combat - numerical superiority. It is awesome to see so many allies join us, but in gameplay... that means this can quickly become a massacre. I have cleared the map with two minutes to go, which is disappointing. If only we had enemies to match our friendlies, but alas, that's not always the case.
The second part is as good as an airship battle can be. Multiple stages, with drone combat providing an objective while the story plays, a beautifully orchestrated moment with the music itself... it's on par with Aigaion, Hresvelgr, all of them. Ammo management can be an issue here, but you can simply checkpoint immediately after the update and the only thing you lose is the one second that takes. It just wasn't the coolest thing to display here.
"Put a stop to the drone production". Mihaly's final wish. We'll honor it, with what is quickly becoming my favorite Flanker, displacing the 33. An aircraft that quite turn as swiftly as it should, but that's enjoyable to fly nonetheless.
