Ace Combat 7 SP AA Missiles Comparison
8Scenario: Mission 20 (Dark Blue), Ace Difficulty. The objective of this comparison test is to shoot down both of the ADF-11F Ravens (Hugin and Munin) as fast as possible and record the time taken to do so, using standard missiles and different types of SP AA missiles to compare which have the fastest kill times.
SP Missiles used: HCAA (High Capacity Air Missile) on the Typhoon
SASM (Short range Aerial Suppression Missile) on the F-15C
HPAA (High Power Air Missile) on the Su-37
HVAA (High Velocity Air Missile) on the YF-23
QAAM (Quick Manuever Air Missile) on the F-22A
Verdict: You can't go wrong with QAAMs unsurprisingly, and the F-22A is very maneuverable. HPAA's extraordinary high damage has the potential to have a better kill time than the QAAM if not for the longer reload time barring me from shooting at certain points.
HVAA's high velocity and extended lock-on range (5km as compared to QAAM's 3km) is a close contender and can be useful in situations where the target is further away.
SASM has a high hit rate but low damage per missile as the missile explodes in mid-air if it misses.
HCAA is rather meh.
Do note that there are limitations to this test, such as:
The usage of different jets with different mobility and maneuverability which definitely affect the results.
My own piloting skill, which I admit is pretty average.
Variable levels of luck on certain hits, as scoring hits on aces is very different from bombing ground targets like my previous video.
Disclaimer: I'm not that great of a pilot, so I'm unable to shoot down the ace-type enemies with laser/railgun weaponry and thus I'm only able to use homing missiles, as such this video does not include PLSL, EML, and TLSL. I also do not have any of the dlcs to showcase the Raven's UAVs.
