After retaking Port Patterson, Aurelians set their sights on the city of Santa Elva, seeing it as an important strategic foothold due to its proximity to Aurelian capital, Griswall. However, before the attack on Santa Elva can even start, Gryphus 1 and his wingmen are sent to assist Aurelian tank battalion which ended up pinned down by Leasathian forces in Stand Canyon while en route to Santa Elva with the situation being made even worse by the fact that the canyon is within range of Gleipnir's balistic missiles, making the flight in the area extremely risky.

Meanwhile, Albert Genette gains insight into Leasathian control of Aurelia as he learns that Leasathian military leader and dictator Diego Gaspar Navarro hosts lavish banquets almost daily in Gaiuss Tower, seat of Aurelian government-turned command center of Leasathian military while Leasath itself is still recovering from civil war which ended only a year prior, leaving most of the country destroyed and its population destitute. Realizing the paradox between extreme poverty in Leasath and extravagance displayed by its leadership in occupied Aurelia, Albert decides to start investigating the truth behind Leasathian economy...
